* My otp(s): Oh, God. How much time do you have? Right. My hard-core ones: Darcy/Clint, Tony/Pepper, Steve/Peggy * My anti-otp: Loki/anyone. I just can't, I'm sorry. I also have issues with Clint/Natasha. I see them as kick-ass partners who know each other better than almost anyone and there was that time in that place that they don't talk about, but I don't see them romantically. Actually, I may have answered this incorrectly. Anti-otp? I'm going with these are pairings that I just cannot with. * My unusual otp(s): Darcy/Phil, Maria Hill/Steve Rogers, Natasha/Steve * My crossover otp(s): Darcy/William Brandt (from Mission: Impossible), Steve/Christine Chapel (I...don't know where that came from, actually, but I'm seeing it working...) * My friendship otp(s): Pepper/Phil, Pepper/Bruce, Jane/Betty/Darcy/Pepper/Natasha/Maria, Tony/Bruce, Clint/Bruce, Natasha/Bruce, Thor/Phil
I love Tony/Pepper fics that show how much they care about the other, but also how complicated their relationship is. I hate it when a fic is labelled Tony/Pepper, but it's all about how they break up with each other because their relationship can't handle Tony being an Avenger. Bullshit. If Pepper could love him when he was a complete arsehole, then she can love him when he's...slightly less of an arsehole. I like fics where he realises just how amazing she is, and tries to do things to please her.
I love the idea of Darcy/Steve much more than I do Darcy/Clint; I recognise the irony here, but I think that Clint's just too old for her. Steve is, biologically, if not chronologically, closer in age to her, and just seems to fit better to me. I love Thor/Jane, but not if Thor's portrayed as a rather enthusiastic golden retriever. Plus Jane's a smart woman, and I like to see her actually do something in stories other than forget to eat and drink coffee. And yes, that's all she did in the one fic I've written that involves her, but still. She wasn't the focus.
I don't think that Clint and Natasha could have a romantic relationship in the same way that anybody else could, but I could see them having their own, strange version of it and it being enough for them. I don't particularly want to see them paired up with anybody else.
I'm not much of a slash fan, so I tend to avoid fics that have slash as the main pairings. I avoid Tony/Steve like the plague, because I love the idea of Tony/Pepper so much and I don't want to see them parted. I also don't want to read anything with Loki in it.

I also think that Steve is, emotionally, much closer to Darcy's emotional age, if that makes sense.
Which is to say, Darcy/Steve for the win!
