i like my sugar with coffee and cream!

I just saw an article on Salon calling LiveJournal obsolete, so I'm going to post! Darn it!

Things!

1. The grand move south progresses. I'm...okay with the whole thing? I guess? It's happening, so... I've begun the great job search again, so that's stress-inducing as per usual.

2. I have not seen Captain America 2, but that didn't stop me from having a rather interesting dream the other night involving Sebastian Stan and a hallway and some kissage. Not a bad dream, I have to say. I blame everyone on Tumblr.

3. I'm actually making progress on an original story. We'll see! I might post a collage this weekend for the heck of it. What's kind of fun is all the baking I'm going to need to do. For RESEARCH.

4. Work has been really, really busy this week! But I'm using the stairs which is good for me. Then I eat a Chunky Peanut Butter Kitkat which is not good for me. :P

5. I don't think I have a 5. I hope everyone is having a good week!

Happy Thursday! ♥

It's true. Most people have left LJ for DW, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook. If you're here for fandom, it's probably a losing battle. But I can't see any way to do what I like to do in fandom anywhere else. There is no way in hell I would try to move the [livejournal.com profile] xf_book_club or [livejournal.com profile] xf_santa to Tumblr, or God forbid, Facebook.

The other reason I'm here because I've always kept a journal and I still want to keep one. It was nicer in some ways when I had people following me and commenting, but the loss of readership isn't going to change what I do. If no one is reading my LJ, well, no one was reading it when I kept it on paper.

I'm excited that you're writing something original.

Job searching and moving: so stressful. I hope it goes well.

Fandom does seem to be centered at Tumblr (for the moment) and I honestly doubt anyone, even the most staunch users of Tumblr, actually think it's a good platform for discussion. Especially not comms like the book club!

If no one is reading my LJ, well, no one was reading it when I kept it on paper.

That's a brilliant point! Sometimes, the act of just getting thoughts or the words or the lists out of one's head is really all I want in a journal. I like it when people comment and I love reading other people's entries, but I think I'd still write down my thoughts even if it was just to send them out into the ether.

I'm enjoying the original stuff at the moment. As per usual, it's getting myself into the discipline of writing it everyday.
