Dear Yuletide Writer,
First off - THANK YOU! Thank you so much for writing and participating in this exchange. I promise that I will enjoy whatever you come up with. The following requests are just guidelines and feel free to follow your instincts! My likes and dislikes are pretty general.
Likes:
Banter. Oh, I love characters that like to talk, tease and snark and generally connect through words. Fun, snappy dialogue gets me every time.
Happy endings. I'm such a sucker for happy endings and people being content.
Romance. As you might be able to tell from my requests, I'm a big old sap for romance and people figuring themselves out. That being said, by all means go Gen if you want to.
Ladies Being Awesome. I love women being strong and capable and true to themselves.
Dislikes:
Angst. I'm not a big fan of angst for angst's sake. I'd much rather laugh than cry.
Unhappy endings.
No dub-con, rape, incest.
No parodies, please.
No slash, please.
Request 1: The Moon-spinners (1964 film), Nikki Ferris, Mark Camford
Oh, I think I'll be requesting this one forever!
Yep. The Disney film. I know it's cheesy, but it was highly formative for me. I have loved this movie since I was a little girl and I adored Nikki and all her enthusiasm. I'd love to see more of Nikki and Mark interacting. It could be during the film, post-film, anything! Anything that captures Nikki's curiosity and spirit.
I'd just love to see these two on more adventures. Whether it's set during the film or post, in Crete or back home in London. What happens next? Anything!
Request 2: An Inquiry into Love and Death (Simone St James), Jillian Leigh, Drew Merriken
I have adored reading Simone St James' novels this year and this one in particular. I would love to see what happens next between Jillian and Drew. Now that they've experienced ghosts, does that mean more will turn up? How will they make it work while she's at school and he's in London? Do they keep falling into mysteries? I just want to see more of these two.
I also loved the other heroines in the other novels, so feel free to pull them in, if you'd like! Maybe the ladies somehow meet for a cuppa and share their experiences. I'm open to anything!
Request 3: Ghostbusters (movies), Janine Melnitz
What I would love to see most is Janine's story. To be perfectly honest, she was highly formative to tiny me and I adore her character, especially in the first film. I'd love to see her side of events in the first film. Or what led her to take the job in the first place. Maybe she and Dana have a chat over coffee post-crazy events. I just want to see what wrangling the Ghostbusters is like from an admin point of view! Does she have her own encounter with a ghost? Anything with Janine! Feel free to throw in the rest of the guys, but it doesn't have to be romantic.
