Dear Yuletide Author...
Dear amazing and wonderful Yuletide Author!
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for writing something for me! I promise you that I will enjoy it! The one thing I really want you to do is to have fun and enjoy yourself. I am pretty firm on my dislikes, but as for the actual story, go for it. If there's something you've been wanting to write with these characters that I don't mention here, go for it! That being said, here are some of the things I like and dislike as well as my story ideas.
Likes:
Banter. Oh, I love characters that like to talk, tease and snark and generally connect through words. Fun, snappy dialogue gets me every time.
Happy endings. I'm such a sucker for happy endings and people being content.
Romance. As you might be able to tell from my requests, I'm a big old sap for romance and people figuring themselves out. That being said, by all means go Gen if you want to.
Ladies Being Awesome. I love women being strong and capable and true to themselves.
Dislikes:
Angst. I'm not a big fan of angst for angst's sake. I'd much rather laugh than cry.
Unhappy endings.
No dub-con, rape, incest.
No parodies, please.
AUs I like: Westerns, Pacific Rim, soulmarks, apocafic, and whodunit's.
My requests:
Swamp Thing (tv): Abby Arcane and Alec Holland
I loved the premise of this show. I know it's based on the comic book characters, but I honestly don't know anything about the comics and my request is based on the TV show. However, if you want to add comic book aspects or themes, by all means - go for it!
In short, I loved these two, especially when they were both, um, human. I would love to see them solving another mystery or Alec showing Abby more of what the Green can do. Or perhaps a slight AU where they meet under other circumstances during another crisis, only this time Alec doesn't turn into Swamp Thing. Basically, I'd just love to see these two being the smart, competent, compassionate nerds that they are, whether they're both human or not!
American Gods (tv): Laura Moon and Mad Sweeney
Ohhh, these two. I love their combative relationship. Whether you ship them romatically or platonically, I love how they just know which buttons to push. I would love to see what happens next now that (spolier!) Sweeney is technically dead. Does Laura bring him back? Does she manage to come back to life?
Or feel free to go totally AU and put these two into a completely different scenario. I just want to see more of their shenanigans. Feel free to bring in any of the other characters. I'd love to see what Bilquis thinks of these two. I can picture her watching from the sidelines with a bowl of popcorn! No Shadow-bashing, please.
Dark City: Emma Murdoch and John Murdoch
This movie. I love this movie and I loved John and Emma. I would love to see what happens next. Does Emma start to remember? Does John ever abuse his powers? Or what if Emma's memories were never erased and she helps John as he comes to grips with his powers. I simply want to just see more of these two as they learn to live together, not just be in love. Even just reading about them having breakfast together would be delightful!
Penelope (movie): All characters
This movie is such a delight! I would just love to see these characters enjoying life. Maybe have Johnny showing Penelope more of his favorite things and his music. Maybe she shows him how to plant a garden? I'd love to see them in love and happy! Feel free to bring in Lemon and Wanda and see what happens next!
I hope I've given you a few ideas to go on, but honestly, just enjoy yourself and have fun re-watching the source material! Thank you so much!!!!
