Doctor/Anyone fanfic is a bit of a guilty secret for me; this how means so much to me, and has meant so much to me for so long that I'm not sure that I like reading about him in relationships that work. Because, thinking about it, they never would work, would they? Not really. Sooner or later the companion will die and he won't, and that's underlining all of their interactions. Plus it would be so hard to think of yourself as an equal with him; no matter how smart you are, or how brave, he's smarter. And braver. Just by dint of being 900 years old.

And I don't like angsty fic.

Yet I still read relationshippy fic, hoping that it will all work out.
