Friday! Woo hoo!

I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you for all the happy birthday wishes. I had a very good day. Fantastic Chinese take-away and my husband got me the first season of the Original Series of Star Trek! The Collector's Edition that's remastered! It's a thing of beauty. Guess what I'm watching all weekend!

His birthday is next week and I got him a t-shirt that has the light cycle from Tron on the front of it. That and a ups system so when our dodgy electric goes off (which it does) he won't lose ten hours worth of data. Ah, geek love. ;P

And can I just say how awesome it is that it's finally Friday? I thought this week would never end. I so don't feel like being at work.

Also, should I go see Inglourious Basterds? Just how violent is it? 'Cause I can't take the Tarantino gore like I used to.

Oh, thank you! And I happy belated birthday to you as well! I love that so many folks have b-days in October. We're all fall babies.

Happy (slightly belated) birthday!

And those are great presents. Geek love is the *best*. (Says the girl who's teeshirt drawer is full of thinkgeek tees that have been presents from my husband....)

Thank you kindly!

There is nothing quite like geek love. He got me the Iron Man special edition dvd last year and I got him the Blade Runner one. It just makes me giggle. (and I can spend hours looking at thinkgeek!)

As someone who's seen and loved Inglourious Basterds, I can definitely say that it's not as ultra-violent as some of the other Tarantino flicks. There are parts of it that are gruesome and shocking, but it makes sense in the context of the film, and all of the violence is done in such a way that it makes an impact. Most of it is over-the-top cartoon violence, and it was only a few scenes of violence that really shocked me and none of them had blood in them.

I'd say go see it because it's not like any of his other movies out there, although it does have more than a few *facepalm* moments, but it's really worthwhile.

Hmmm. I think I'm going to have to see it. It sounds very interesting and I heard the soundtrack consists of music from other film soundtracks, which is just cool.
