seren_ccdIt was a long week. Not due to anything bad, just due to it being a long week.
I've been writing a wee bit every day. Belle and Rumpelstiltskin are currently eyeing each other over a continental breakfast somewhere in mid-Illinois. I'm honestly not kidding. :D

It had been an accident; he'd added some valeriana that was a bit off to his potion, so instead of producing something soporific, it induced a slight sort of drunkenness. And since it was a vapor and Belle had been cleaning the windows in his potions room they both inhaled.
Which explained why they were both lying on the floor, he perpendicular to her, his head resting on her stomach while he pointed out the constellations in the ceiling. She giggled almost uncontrollably and ran her fingers through his hair. At one point, she sat up and declared that she needed to dance and since he was the only other bipedal being in the room, he had to dance with her.
Which he did.
At first clumsily while they both laughed and tripped over each other's feet, then more slowly and carefully, her head coming to rest on his shoulder, while his right hand cradled hers and his left gently massaged tiny circles on her back.
He emerged from the drug an hour before she did, not that he mentioned it.
*Oh, I love these two!

"Pepper makes lists for everything," Darcy told her. "It's a thing."
"First you have to wear that red shirt of yours," Natasha said. "The one that accentuates your breasts. He goes all brain-dead when you wear that shirt."
"Aww, he does?" Darcy said as Pepper jotted down 'red-shirt' on on her notepad.
"He really does," Natasha confirmed. "Then all you have to do and I know this sounds terrible, but lean over."
"What and bust out of the red shirt?" Darcy asked. "I was hoping for something a bit more classy. A bit more refined."
"The guy likes the Three Stooges," Jane said making a face. "I don't think he does refined."
Darcy thought about that. Then shrugged. "Fair enough. I don't really do refined either. Bustin' out of my shirt. Got it."

Cooper didn't mean to set Brandt on fire. He'd just been in the way. Cooper had just been trying to explain to one of the other guys that all you needed in a pinch to make a decent short-action flame-thrower was a lighter and some kind of aerosol.
Brandt just had the worst timing in the history of the world.
The guy just waltzed right into the barracks without looking first and straight into the stream of flame that Cooper had produced using, you guessed it, his lighter and a can of Lysol.
Asshole didn't even thank him later for smothering the fire out.
Ungrateful bastard.

"Oh, I know you're not," she said. "That's part of the attraction."
"I see," he said condescendingly. "So, I'm what? A phase? A dalliance? Your chance to, how do they put it? Walk on the wild side?"
Belle shook her head. "None of those." She leaned in. "I have no earthly idea why I like you so much. Why I want to hear your voice and see if your fingers are as quick and as clever on my skin as I think they might be." She sat back, everyone else in the diner had faded away and it was just her and the captivating man on the other side of the table who watched her with eager eyes despite the hard set of his mouth.
"You're my mystery, Mr. Gold," Belle said starting to smile. "And I'm going to figure you out."

"You know, I'm not sure your lease agreement with SHIELD extends to a destroyed oven," Darcy said, looking at said over that was still smoking and was a charming shade of black.
"I was trying to make dinner," Clint said his arms crossed over his chest, streaks of black on his shirt.
"I can see that," Darcy said trying very hard not to laugh at his petulant tone and the way he glared at the oven.
"I thought turning it up to 400 would make it cook a bit faster," he said after a few minutes.
Darcy lost the fight with herself and started to laugh. But she framed his face with her hands and kissed him, long and sloppy and ended it with a slight nip to his lower lip. "You're a dork. And I'm extremely touched that you wanted to make dinner. But we really need to call Property Services."

"Oi, you two!" Connor called out. Becker and Jess turned to look at him. He grinned and pointed to just above their heads. "It's tradition."
Both looked up to see the tiny sprig of green plastic and then looked at each other.
"Well, um, hard to argue with tradition," Becker said hesitantly.
"Very hard," Jess agreed. She gave him a tentative smile which he returned and then he lowered his head.
After a few minutes Connor blinked at them. "Um, guys. I can leave if you'd like me to--you know what, I'm gonna go. You two stay and uh, carry on."

Pepper admonished Dummy once again for not quite getting the last bit of her suit off correctly, when Tony walked in.
They stared at each other for a moment.
"This isn't the worst thing you've seen me doing?" Pepper offered, well aware that she was clad in a tight-fitting bodysuit.
"No, I'm pretty sure it is," he said tilting his head to the side. "It wouldn't be the worst thing you've ever caught me doing, but I'm not the responsible one. Speaking of, you've got a board of directors meeting."
"Oh, God, when?" she asked desperately trying to get out of the suit without breaking it or herself.
"Ah, two hours ago?"
"Tony!"
"Hey, I'm not the one flying around in a metal suit! Why are you in a metal suit and can I help you get out of it?"

"Good luck with that. Ow!" McCoy said rubbing the spot where Christine elbowed him.
"We can try reasoning with him, but honestly," Christine said. "You kind of have to let him just do it. He's got a weird knack of getting impossible things to happen."
"Hmm," Pepper said. "If you're sure..."
"I'm really not," Christine said. "It could all end in tears."
"Yeah, especially considering Scotty's joined in," McCoy pointed out.
