Seriously. Take this stuff away from me.

This is my visual reference (aka collage) for all the shenanigans these two will get up to.

Nora and Alec's First Meeting )

I hope everyone is having a lovely, lazy Sunday. We've watched two rugby games. Two! Go Wales! ♥

I've been at it again. This time is my hero, Alec Ferridan. Poor fella. He's not really happy about the whole ghost thing.

Happy Saturday! ♥

I follow FYCharacterDevelopment on Tumblr and they asked people to put together a character study of one of their characters. This is what I came up with for my heroine, Nora Heron. This was fun! She's currently cast as Norah Jones, because she's adorable.

Nora Heron

I may do more of these, it's really helpful to flesh out certain things using images.

This is also me trying out the whole image upload thing to DW and see if it also displays on LJ.

1. I have a cold! Woooo - *ach-gasp-cough* - ooo? Typical. But I feel better than I did yesterday, so that's something. I may trundle off to the pharmacy later this week and get a flu shot. Just in case.

2. The job search goes ever onwards. *sighs*

3. Writing hit a bit of a wall, simply due to not feeling well. But I'm almost done with the revision of the first six chapters, which means I can write NEW STUFF now. I have several fun scenes in mind. *bounces*

4. I've been thinking about my main character and I'm now seeing Norah Jones as 'Nora'. I'm not sure why. I adore Hayley Atwell but I'm now seeing someone else in my mind. We'll see how that plays out. Probably because I keep imagining Chappi Korsandi as her mum.

5. Here is a very wee snippet from the original thing. Ghosts? Really? )

Happy Wednesday! ♥

WIP Meme

Nicked from all over:

When you see this, share 3 random lines from 3 random WIPs.

BBC Musketeers, Constance/Athos where they're the only ones left standing in their late 40s and well, why not:

Constance had watched d'Artangnan chop wood before, she was fairly certain she could manage it. Or, she could hold out until the following week when someone from the garrison came out to deliver her supplies. Or...

She rounded the corner and stopped, then sighed and shook her head.

Or she could ask the Musketeer currently standing at her door and knocking politely.

"You're early," she called out heading his way.

Athos turned and smiled at her. "Porthos was worried."

From my The Baker and the Bounty Hunter 'novel':

Emma sagged against the side of her car, breathing heavily. The sound of rushing footsteps made her jump back up and she swung her pack again in the direction of the steps.

“Whoa, whoa, easy there, slugger, it’s me,” Cage said holding up his hands and jumping back. “Are you okay?”

“No!” she shouted. “That asshole threw macarons at me!”

From The Ghost and the Ghost-writer:

"This is authentic," Nora said looking at the fob. She raised her eyes to Myron's. "You remembered that I wrote that obituary about the ceramics master, didn't you?"

"Your occupation has led to you having the most intriguingly esoteric library, my dear," he said, his smile not quite hidden by his teacup.

Ooh! Meme-time! I have a bunch of WIPs, but this one will be from my original stuff.

FIRST — the first two sentences of my current project
LAST — the most recently written two sentences of my current project
NEXT — the next line. meaning i will finish the sentence I’m on and write a new one, which you’ll get.
[insert prompt here] — you post a prompt, and i’ll write three sentences based on that prompt, set in the same time/setting as my current project
THE END — i’ll make up an ending, or post the ending if i’ve written it
BEFORE THE BEGINNING — three sentences (or more) about something that happened before the plot of my current project
POV — something that’s already happened, retold from another character’s perspective

Hi!

I’m going to do my best to start posting once a week again.

Things!

1. The new job is going really well. I like what I’m doing and it feels like a good fit. I had some very encouraging feedback on Friday and this may turn out to be more of a long-term post than temporary. Which is great! It’s nice working for an organisation that actually wants its employees to develop professionally.

2. Writing! I’m doing it? Bits and pieces, but I’m trying. I’m writing mostly by hand at the moment, which is working out for me. I’m filling up my new notebook rather quickly. My thoughts are just better geared to handwriting at the moment. We’ll see!

3. I wrote the ending of my original fic! Well, most of it. I need to write some of the rest, but it has been really helpful. I know where I need to get to. I figured out my villain/antagonist. I know what I want to have happen character development-wise and I think I set things up for the other books that will follow. Yay!

4. I’ve discovered Inspector Lewis. Laurence Fox is rather dishy, isn’t he? I could see him doing Lord Peter Wimsey in a few years when he’s in his 40s. Lucky Billie Piper!

5. I’m heading to Wales in September for a bit of a holiday. Le husband has to go to a conference in the town where my in-laws are and I’m tagging along to have a break. I have a list of things to look up at the National Library, so that’s going to be one of my days. The other days are going to spent wandering and talking and petting the wonderful family puppy.

Here is a wee collage of my favourite characters and an itty, bitty snippet.

faaaces and words! )

Happy Monday! ♥

Rating: PG-13, mild violence and language
Disclaimer: They are, well, actually, these guys are mine. All of them. I did borrow a set of characters from Terry Pratchett. However, if you ask them, they’ll say they were their own to begin with and he borrowed them. Either way, no infringement meant! Also the title comes from Evacuate the dance floor by Cascada. Yeah, I know, shut up.

I’ve also taken some (probably) extreme liberties with Latin.

A/N: This has been beta'd by the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] fringedweller. Diolch en fawr! :D

And a massive, MASSIVE 'Thank you!' to all of you for indulging this little experiment of mine! I hope you like it!

Summary: The Autumn Festival in Cwm Alaw has always been known for food, games, mischief and dancing. However, no one ever expected this.

It's Wednesday! And it's not a bad day.

Here are Five Things that Have Made me Smile Today:

1. My husband is feeling better. Which means I am feeling better.

2. They've been digging in the line of shrubbery outside my office and today they've filled it back in and put fresh damp mulch on. It smells like my childhood outside when I would go running barefoot through the paths in the parks.

3. This Open Letter to Madeleine L'Engle I found on McSweeney's. I loved Madeleine L'Engle and A Wrinkle in Time totally formed my world-view when I was 10.

4. This interview with Michael Fassbender. Yeah. I just. Yeah. Watch.

5. I've been reading Getting Rid of Bradley by Jenny Crusie (I know! I like her books.) and I'm so seeing these people as the two lead characters. the usual cut for pictures of people i find pretty )

Happy Wednesday everyone! Is it just me, or does everyone wake up on a Wednesday and go 'Well, at least I've only got to do that two more times before the weekend.'

The plan for this weekend is write, write, write. And then write some more. I have four stories that I would like to write. At least two of them should be finished by the end of this month, at the very least.

Anyway!

The Cast List for Teeth, Claws and Guinness is growing. BUT, I've figured out the bad guy. Yay!

a hematologist, a raven and a bad, bad man )
seren_ccd: (Hot Fuzz quote)
I'm in such a nostalgic mood today, I'm listening to music from my middle school years and I am such a child of the early 90s. I'm eating up Def Leppard, Amy Grant, George Michael and the Stereo MCs like a fiend. *sighs*

Seriously, this cheesy, cheesy video used to make my heart flutter. (a link b/c they don't have an embed code)

ALSO! There is a love meme going on over here. My thread is here. Let me know who else has put up a thread so I can tell you all how much I adore and appreciate you! :D

The writing has been very hard this week. The ideas are all there, as is the plot (for a change), but the actual, physical writing has been tough. Therefore, I bring my weekly posting of pictures of Evan and Hannah!

loud and clear they stake my claim, yeah )

Happy Thursday!

Back at work. Spent all morning getting large packets of stuff ready for posting. My paper-cut fingers are not happy.

Ans why is it that everytime I go outside I get poured on? I mean, drenched. Not nice, universe. Not nice at all.

Seeing as it's Wednesday, it's picture and Teeth, Claws and Guinness snippet time. Woohoo!

Things that are Nifty.

1. I was actually, literally Rick-rolled today. I was on Last.fm and listening to the Florence and the Machine radio station. Never Gonna Give You Up came on. *snerk*

2. It's really lovely outside. Frickin' freezing, but very pretty.

3. My hair actually let me style it this morning! It never does that!

4. I am almost done with my original fic, which means I can then work on my Yuletide story!

Speaking of my original story...

Just adding to the cast list )
