Sounds like a migraine for sure. Occular or classic, I couldn't say. I sometimes get an aura--a warning, in a sense--with my classic migraines that consists of waving, pulsating lines in one part of my visual field. If I take my migraine meds as soon as the aura hits, I can avoid the headache. It's always a good idea to get eye changes checked out but this sounds like a neurological issue, not an eye problem, but I'm neither a neurologist nor an ophthalmologist. If this turns out to be a recurring problem, you should see your physician who can refer you to a neurologist if need be. There is medication for migraines. People have triggers, usually more than one.
