Dear Yuletide Author,
First and foremost: Thank you! and I love you! Honestly. I really mean that.
Now, I should tell you that I am very easy to please. I will love anything you write, and am tickled that you're participating in this.
Before I give you any particulars, I do just want to say that none of this is set in stone. If you have an idea that you want to run with that doesn't match my request exactly, run with it! Feel free to experiment and try anything out. What I've written below is just to give you a brief run-down of my general preferences. Feel free to scope out my delicious recs and faves at ff.net to get a taste of stuff I've liked in the past.
I am a huge fan of happy endings. I'm not one for angst for angst's sake. That being said, I certainly don't mind conflict and obstacles, but I much prefer to laugh than cry.
I am, as you might be able to tell, a bit of a romantic sap, too. I love stories where best friends become lovers. If romance isn't your cup of tea, I also love good gen where the characters have a snappy dialogue with each other and enjoy being themselves.
Fandom One: The Young Riders
I'd really love a good Lou and Jimmy moment or story. Whether it's during the series, post-series, gen or romantic. I always loved these two characters and think they challenged each other and also had each other's backs in great ways. So anything with the two of them talking or working or even having a romantic moment, go wild! Feel free to really get into the western genre, too. I love that era and the history.
That's pretty much that. I loved this show when I was young and always liked the character of Jimmy. I'm a huge fan of the Old West, so really, anything that shows the setting and how life was back then is great. If the romance isn't working for you, go gen!
Fandom Two: Jennifer Crusie - Faking It
I would love to see Ethan and Nadine shenanigans. It would be wonderful to see how or if they finally get together and become a couple. But I would also love to see them just being themselves, talking and living, possibly showing Nadine as she takes up the family business. Feel free to throw in any of the rest of the characters.
I recently discovered Jennifer Crusie and can't seem to stop reading her. Faking It is my favorite of the ones I've read. I adored Ethan and Nadine and would just love to see more of them. In any form, romantic or gen.
Fandom Three: Grindhouse-Planet Terror
I liked Sheriff Hague. I would have loved to see him survive. I love to see either a pre-movie Sheriff, how did he get to be such a good shot or how did he become Sheriff, why doesn't his barbeque sauce not taste as good as his brother's, etc. Or alternatively, I'd like to see what he'd do if he managed to make it out. Feel completely free to use any of the other characters from the film.
Okay, this is my random fandom. I have a thing for Michael Biehn. (I think we can blame it on seeing Aliens at a young age) I also loved this movie. It's gross and crude and there are still some parts that I haven't seen because I'm covering my eyes. That being said, I thought the dialogue and the characters were very enjoyable. I would just love to see a focus on Sheriff Hague. Gen for the most part, het if you feel inspired; I'm certainly not opposed to OCs or a crossover if you want to. No incest, please. And like I said, pre-movie, during the movie, post-movie, go AU if you want!
Fandom Four: Once Upon a Time in the West (movie)
I would so love to see Jill and the Harmonica man meet again. Whether it was several years down the line or only a few. Or perhaps, he checks up on her without her knowing it. I'm actually very flexible. I love anything set in the Old West and would love to see anything in this world.
Again, for this prompt, I'm really into the Old West setting. This movie is wonderfully intense and I'd just like to see the characters a few years down the line.
That's it! Trust me when I say that if you attempt any of these prompts, I will love it. And you! Do not feel bound by the requests, follow your own inspiration and have fun!
Thank you!
