I'm a posting fool today it seems.

But, I've got a random question.

When you are thinking Kirk/Chapel/McCoy (yes, in that way) what are some songs that you identify with them?

MY SECOND FAVOURITE STAR TREK SHIP, LET ME FLAIL OVER IT. "Weather Systems", by Andrew Bird, "Chicago", by Sufjan Stevens, "Keep the Car Running", by the Arcade Fire, "Golden and Green", by the Builders and the Butchers, "Plane Crash in C", by Rilo Kiley, "My Favourite Game", by the Cardigans, "Expo 86" by Death Cab, "Melt Your Heart", by Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins. All more for the atmosphere than the lyrics, I think.

shutting up now

Afternoon Delight. Cheesy, but when it's right it's right...plus, with their schedules, they'd have to fit it in whenever they could! (fnar fnar)

Keep the Car Running! Oh, Arcade Fire. I love thee and your orchestra-goodness. These are awesome! Thank you!!!

The person who won the bid for a fic from me with help_haiti requested Kirk/Chapel or Kirk/Chapel/McCoy. And I was all 'I can't write Kirk/Chapel/McCoy, I wouldn't know where to start? How, how, how?'

Then I thought about it.

I said it would be at least 1000 words.

It's going to be more than 1000 words.

I'm so EXCITED TO WRITE THIS THING!!!

THIS SHIP EATS A PERSON'S BRAINS, I well know how it goes.

(And I am also writing K/Mc/C for my help-haiti fic! :D)

I'm actually looking for some musical inspiration and title options. The person who won a bid for me to write them something in help_haiti has asked for Kirk/Chapel/McCoy. I've got ideas, but I always like to have a theme tune on in the background!

i'm having a ridiculous fun time with these three. it's academy era and kirk is such a goober.

No way? Seriously? Wow. I'm really flattered! I was really blown away by all the stories in the last ship wars 'battle'. I seriously do ship everyone in this fandom!

Really, 'wars' isn't the best title. it should be more like "Massive Love-In Where We All Run Around Saying How Fantastic Everyone Else Is". I suppose War is shorter...

Portishead "Roads" and "Numb" are my go-to porn writing music. Any porn. Hell, the entire album is pretty much fucking music.

Oh. Portishead. *nods* Where everyone should go for their sexytiem music. I knew of them peripherally and then I saw Stealing Beauty (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117737/) with Liv Tyler.

Guh. That is all.

I think pretty much everything sexy-time I wrote from 2003->2006 was written while listening to Portishead. Something about those bass lines, man.

Also, I totally imagine Jim thinking cheesey 1960's pop ballads are ways to giggle people into submission. He'd totally have a Frank Sinatra kink and serenade people. I have nothing specific in mind, but it's a hysterical mental image...

Oh, I'm kinda liking the Sinatra angle. Definitely a kink Kirk could get into.

He totally wants to be slick and sophisticated. Deep down. Where it matters. But he never wants to admit it because admitting he wants something is a weakness, so he'll play off any kind of actual desire as a HAHA joke, when really.

Is it weird that I kind of like broken!Fuckedup-Kirk better than original flavor? OH, DADDY ISSUES.

Also, the shenanigans that he and Christine could unleash. Two pretty, brilliant blonds? Poor Bones.

Oh, the daddy-issues are lovely! Why do you think he did so much for Pike? And wouldn't leave him behind? (i mean, other than the fact that i personally want the admiral's babies and sooper-sekritly ship him and chapel)

Kirk and Chapel have SO much fun together!

Seeing as Pike was one of the first male figures to give a damn about him (AND have a connection to his dead father), YEAH. And I've had this conversation with [livejournal.com profile] taraljc, but BG is not an actor I normally find interesting or attractive, but. Dude. I'd hit that as Admiral Pike. (Kind of in the same way I'd hit Aragorn but really have no interest in Viggo Mortensen.)

Christine Chapel should have whatever the hell she wants, whenever the hell she wants, and with a bonus side of foot rubs.

And OH MY GOD, I believe it! And their evil cackles and sexy eyes when evil cackling (and plotting) should probably be bottled and sold as an aphrodisiac. EVIL AND HOT.

I'm totally with you on the BG thing. I still see him as the crazy guidance counselor in Disturbing Behavior or Ashley Judd's cheating husband in whatever that film was called. So, to be all OMG PIKE, kind of took me aback.

Chapel/Kirk is a lovely, evol, hawt thing.

I'M HAVING TOO MUCH FUN!!!

Basically the whole Under the Blacklight album from Rilo Kiley...with special attention to "Smoke Detector" and "Dejalo". It's really loose and the lyrics are so sexy. *sigh*

Oh myyyyyyyyyy now this is a toughy! At least for those 3 specifically.. they've got such an interesting mix of personalities there.. I find it hard to settle on just one ...wait.. totalllllllllllllllllllly got it:

"I Can't Stay Away" by the Veronicas. Totally sexy song, and totally would work for early on, either Chapel or Bones really thinking it's a very very bad idea but damn it would be too fun!

(sorry, cheesy girl music I know, but I've recently gone head over heals addicted to them for some reason. There's another song called "Take Me on the Floor" that just makes me grin. totally appropriate for the first time John and Angel hook up in my Doomverse.)
