Inception!
Aug. 17th, 2010 01:21 pmFinally saw Inception. And in case you were wondering? Yes. It is that good.
1. I ship everyone. I want to read Ariadne/Dom (I need more of this pairing!) and Arthur/Ariadne. BUT, I want to WRITE Ariadne/Fischer. I've got an entire story outlined to be written sometime.
2. I really, really, really want a film where Leo DiCaprio gets the girl. How many films has he done in which his significant other kills herself? I'd almost like to see him try his hand at a comedy. Perferably with Kate Winslet.
3. I would like to do unseemly things to Cillian Murphy's jawline.
And now back to my Big Bang!

Date: 2010-08-17 12:56 pm (UTC)I wasn't so impressed with the ending, though; it seemed a bit predictable to me. Maybe I've had to mark too many stories from eleven year olds that end 'and it was all a dream' to accept that from Christopher Nolan!
I think I preferred 'The Prestige', on the whole. Plus, it has Hugh Jackman. Always a plus, in my book!
What I would pay to see is 'The Making of Inception', though. I'd love to see how they did the hallway scenes in the hotel.

Date: 2010-08-17 01:22 pm (UTC)I so agree about the 'Making of'. I can't wait to see if the DVD release has any special features. I did see some of an interview with 'Arthur' saying that this was the most physically demanding role he'd ever done.

Date: 2010-08-17 02:51 pm (UTC)The scene where Ariadne (Ellen Page) and Dom walk up the road is also a really fun and interesting way of doing that. Chances are, they build a box to duplicate the scene (or to greenscreen it in) and then put that box on a great big rotator, with the camera permanently positioned on the "ground". When Leo and Ellen were walking, the box rotated so that it looked like they were walking "up" when in reality gravity never changed but the camera perspective did. There's a five-minute commentary about it on the pilot for Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman where they talk about how they filmed a scene where Clark walked "up" a wall.
But yes, a making of would be an amazing featurette.

Date: 2010-08-17 06:39 pm (UTC)I actually find I'm kind of happy about this, because I was a bit afraid that reading too much fic too quickly would kind of wash-out my own ideas of the characters with fandom's ideas of the characters, but since what I want to write isn't what I'm reading, it's worked out pretty well so far. Of course, I would actually have to write something for it to matter.
And that got a bit long...erm. Sorry?
