I cannot stop writing the next bit of Teeth, Claws and Guinness! I had a writing schedule y'all! This was going to be ~after~ I wrote something else! I blame the weather and the way the valley looks outside my window. And Michael Fassbender.

Btw, I know nothing about football (UK, not American. I have a better handle on US football. I went to Florida State University and it's something of a pre-requisite.), so could someone sum up the whole league thing in 20 words or less? Who plays against who?

Well, basically if you were say from Ireland, but lived in England or Wales, your team wouldn't play against any of those teams?

Also, are there different divisions? Like local and premier?

No Irish teams play in any of the English leagues, and neither do Scottish ones. Welsh clubs do, although not at a high level. The highest league is the Premier League, with 20 teams. After that are the Championship League, League 1 and League 2. Other leagues follow after that. Imagine a big pyramid, with the premier league at the top - the richest, biggest clubs that are shown on tv a lot, like Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool - and local teams like Aberystwyth and Barry Town somewhere near the bottom.

Got it. So basically, if you support a specific Irish team, they only play against other Irish teams? Which I'm guessing is hard to watch on a telly somewhere in Wales? (unless you've got Sky)

I think there may just have be some wishful thinking and an attempt to sway someone over to one of the Premier Leagues. :D

Btw, I read this week that there should only be one space after a period. I'll be honest and say that I was originally taught two spaces and apparently never got the memo about going back to one space. What say you?

One space for a comma or other internal punctuation, two for a full stop, exclamation mark or question mark. I was taught that, many many moons ago, and I refuse to change. I think it looks better, frankly, and makes typed text easier on the eye.
