Well, here is one of two fake tv shows I've created. This takes the prompts the lovely [livejournal.com profile] jal80 gave me. I hope you enjoy!

Meet the Gardeners

I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.
~Edna St. Vincent Millay, "Afternoon on a Hill"

David Gardener loves two things in this world to distraction: flowers and women. His gardens at Eden Estates are well-known all over the country and many people flock to see them in the small village of Eden in the south of England.

Also situated in the small village, amongst the gardens, are his three daughters Amaryllis, Elodie and Marigold, who he loves with all his heart, just as he loved each of their mothers.

However, it's a small village and when Mr Gardener employs a a young and handsome photographer to document the work done of his gardens, along with portraits of his family, secrets and desires start to bloom.

Amaryllis "Lily" Gardener (Rachel Weisz) is the history teacher at the local secondary school. She's quiet, kind, patient and has always been content playing the part of the older sister. However, the arrival of the photographer awakens something and she begins to get the urge to loosen up and test the limits of her relationships. After all, her name does mean 'naked lady' and wouldn't it be fun to see how freeing that could be?

Elodie "Ellie" Gardener (Emily Blunt) is the middle child and doesn't she feel it some days. She's flitted from project to project, place to place, job to job, which might be annoying if she wasn't so earnest and glamorous about all of them. The fact is, Elodie is still searching for herself but she’ll be damned if she follows her heart and actually takes up gardening. There are already too many cliches in her life and she’s not following in Daddy’s footsteps, thank you, but no. She does, however, love the feel of soil in her hands and dirt under her fingernails...

Marigold "Mari" Gardener (Karen Gillan) is the youngest of the sisters and when she was six she helped to make her first batch of cookies. Now, she owns, runs and does all the baking at the local pastry shop. There's something wonderfully satisfying about getting your hands dirty and having flour in your hair. She's not looking for anything other than the perfect gateau and the occasional good night in, with or without a warm body in her bed. The new photographer is quite the specimen...

Adam Thornfield (Karl Urban) is the head gardener at the estate. He grew up alongside the Gardener girls and has always been thought of as their older brother. He's got great talent and an amazing vision for the new plots of land that are just about ready to be reshaped and replanted. However, Lily's new found 'freedom' is beginning to worry him and the fact that it worries him is worrying him. They've always just been friends. Right?

Malcolm Collins (Michael Fassbender) was hired by David Gardener to follow the progress and changes to the Eden Estates as well as take portraits of the people involved. Including the Gardener family. He's immediately drawn to the sisters by their friendliness and diverse personalities. He can easily see himself having a laugh with Marigold (in and out of bed, if we're being honest), letting Elodie boss him around, and yet... With Amaryllis, he finds himself wanting something more. Which may not be wise for a man with his background.

Daniel Preston (Joel McHale) is really quite happy being a part-time lawyer, part-time agent. He's the one who found Malcolm and brought him to Mr. Gardener. It’s all about the wordplay and the deal-making. The Gardeners are an interesting bunch and that Elodie is simply stunning and totally his type. So, why can’t he stay away from Marigold? The only thing she really has to offer besides her thick, brilliant hair and legs that go on for miles are her baked goods. And Daniel has absolutely no need for carbs. None. Plus she’s into Malcolm. But, she smells so good...

Patrick Smythe (Matt Smith) may be young, but he's the best accountant and business manager Eden Estates has ever had. He's smart, kind, funny and just shy of gawky. In fact, the only person that brings out his inner klutz is Elodie Gardener. He and Mari have been best mates since primary school and the one time they attempted something more (yes, we mean sex) they laughed so hard their ribs ached for days afterwards. He's not quite sure what to make of the photographer either, but if Mr. Gardener trusts him...

Cue lots of gorgeous landscapes, flowers, plants, roots, soil, water, laughter, tears, misunderstandings, love triangles, rumpled sheets and at least one episode with Marigold feeding Daniel icing straight from the bowl.

Let the multi-shipping commence!
