Such is mango!*
Feb. 20th, 2013 06:17 pmWelp.
I managed to walk all the way to my office yesterday morning, and got up the lift to my desk before I realised that I had left my backpack at home. Meaning no keys, no wallet, nothing. *FACE. PALM.*
So I walked back and my husband met me partway with it before catching his bus. We came very close to saying ‘Heck with responsibilities – let’s catch the next train up to Edinburgh for the day!’ VERY. CLOSE.
I would like to make a motion for February to be stricken from the calendar as a month in which we attempt to do things. I move that we hibernate for the full 28 days.
Is the motion seconded?
It’s Wednesday so: picture time!
However, instead of pretty people, I bring pretty places. These are of Llanberis, which is a lovely little town in North Wales right smack at the base of Mt Snowden. It’s really tucked away in a little valley, but the Atlantic is only a few miles away. On a clear day, you can see it! I visited it once with my dad, actually when he came for a visit to the UK. It’s very small, and filled with B&Bs and hiking shops and a really, really yummy vegetarian café. Seriously, the fruit crumble with custard was a revelation.
So, this is the setting for my story. A valley with a quarry, disused slate mines, in the mountains and not too far from the sea. You either have to drive or take the bus from Bangor in order to get there. I highly recommend a visit!

Happy Wednesday! ♥
*Does anyone remember Chris Kattan in Saturday Night Live? Anyone? Bueller? He was funny is my point. And had flair. His Mango sketch never fails to make me snicker – because I’m 12.
