Day Two prompt - Tell me about your NOTPs. Pairings you hate, pairings you don’t understand how someone could ship, OR pairings that you are just sick of hearing about. Are there any pairings that you don’t mind on their own merits but are just so damn ubiquitous you can’t stand it?

Ooh, heck. Well, I've actually gotten to the point where I'm really, really picky about what I read and I'm not super involved in any one particular fandom anymore. I tend to flit about.

But! Here's a list of pairings I probably won't read, just because they're either too angsty or I'm not particularly fond of one of the characters:

Darcy/Loki - I just can't. I love Tom Hiddleston and think he's darling and he does a brilliant villain, but I just can't do this pairing. (TBH, I'm not really fond of pairing Loki with anyone.)
Mulder/Krycek - too angsty and it just doesn't gel for me
Jeff/Britta - I know! I just can't. I think they're friends. I think they've gotten to the point where they're good drinking buddies and they gossip and they commiserate, but they aren't into each other like that anymore. They'd TOTALLY stand up for one another, but there aren't any feelings there.

And those reasons are pretty much why I won't ship certain things. If the villain is too villainous, if I really only see friendship, etc.

As for pairings that I'm tired of? Sherlock. Anything Sherlock. If the story isn't about Lestrade and Molly being awesome and solving a case on their own, I'm not interested. Nope.

Actually, if a story doesn't have at least a 50 to 75% focus on a lady - I'm out.

*HUGS* Have you read this one: http://alice-day.livejournal.com/53730.html It's really fun. Sherlock's in it, but briefly and in such a way that I don't want to hit him too hard over the head. Molly is fabulous and Lestrade is kind of wonderful.

I really have reached the point in my life where I am completely at ease with back-spacing the heck out of something if it even remotely pings on my NOPE-dar.

*NOD* I finally learned that just because something's posted and there doesn't mean I have to read it. FIC IS NOW PLENTIFUL. And oo, *bookmarks*

I need to leave my house as bits of my ceiling fell in in the kitchen (...it's fine. Nothing I can do. IT'S SUNDAY.) AND I need laundry quarters. Also, breakfast. Sigh.

Yeah Loki pairings at all get my back up - he's just so cannonically not a great person, any relationship with him is just seems like it's going to end badly for me.

I think he's a brilliant villain and Tom Hiddleston brings a wonderful face to him. But he's still a villain and he did too many terrible things.

Yes. This doesn't deeply bother me like Natasha/Loki or Loki/Clint does, but it still grates my nerves.
