Y'all! Y'ALL!!!! Scrivener is now available for Windows! I've just downloaded it and haven't tried it out, but FINALLY! Check it out here: Scrivener

If you've never come across Scrivener, it's basically a very good tool to write with. From novels to research papers to whatever. It has some lovely features that I'm going to play with and let you know how it goes.

Actually - is this something folks would be interested in? Me reporting back how my adventures go during my free trial of Scrivener?

Ooo very cool! I''ve heard of Scriviner, but I don't actually know anyone who's used it. You'll have to let me know how it goes!

On a similar note - I just started a 7 day free trial of Grammarly.com

It's basically spell-check and grammar check on steroids. It's $140 for a full subscription for the year, but so far I'm fairly impressed. It's polishing up all the little things that me and my beta readers missed when we looked over the novel the first couple times.

I'm annoyed that I have to only upload 20 pages at a time, but apparently that changes with the full subscription or something? I've had several other friends using it too.

So far so good! I may get the full year depending on what my tax return looks like. We shall see!

Oooh, that sounds awesome! I'm always amazed at how much stuff can get missed, no matter HOW many times you revise.

Yeah it's pretty incredible, especially as I know my grammar is pretty good. Feels great to have that extra polish. I'm crossing my fingers that it helps in the Amazon Breakthrough contest. *crossing my fingers*

As soon as I heard it was out for windows, I was all over it. I can honestly say I don't regret paying for the full version - even for just the ability to split screen between my scene notes/timeline and the actual draft. Oh and the name generator!

I'd love to see you adventures! I probably haven't even scratched the surface on all the features yet.

I've had scrivener for a while, but I'm just now trying it out. They're supposed to be developing an app for the ipad, but that's been delayed.

It's been useful for editing my novel, since I can break it into manageable sections.

That's what's going to work best for me, too. I write in snippets, so this is going to help me tie things together.

*snickers* I'm so terrible. I'm still hacking stuff out in Word97. (This explains EVERYTHING about any or all betaing.) I think if given the option, WordPad would be my program of choice.

(YES, SHARPENED BURNED STICKS WERE THE BEST OKAY!?)

*snorts* Hey, whatever WORKS. I use Word all the time. I'm kinda digging Scrivener because it's going to let me tie the twenty separate docs I have into one and see just what the heck it is I've written so far, I've sort of lost my place...

Sharpened burned sticks are awesome! You can also use them for s'mores!
