March 13, favorite "horror" stories, however you define horror. For [livejournal.com profile] redbrunja

Ooooh, there's a short story by Stephen King called the Man in Black Suit. That's the kind of horror I 'like'. It's that kind of unsettling feeling where you know something is off, but you can't quite figure out what it is. I much prefer that to slasher films.

Things that have flat out scared the crap of me include: The Ring, Aliens, Jeepers Creepers and the Shining.

MAN IN THE BLACK SUIT FUCKED ME UP SO HARD. Devil stories are the ones that really hit me in strange places. Go read "White Orchids" by Jude Devereax. I haven't read it in years, but that's the creepiest horror novel for me. Mostly because it kinda comes out of nowhere (it doesn't, it IS set up!) and left me disturbed for DAYS.

IT'S SO CREEPY AND WELL-WRITTEN.

Btw, who, after complaining about not being able to write has almost a complete chapter in her Molly/Lestrade as well as a fem!bilbo/thorin one-shot? *facepalm*

If I had an address, I would send you energy drinks and chocolate in reward for SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS.

NGL, I am more than a little flaily for the Molly/Lestrade. *makes grabby hands*
