this magic, this drunken semaphore

Hi! Things!
1. I've been home sick with, at first, a UTI, and then a lovely reaction to the antibiotics. Seriously, I've never had a headache like the one I had yesterday in my life. I practically wrapped my pillow around my head to ease it. Today was filled with a long nap, lots of tea and water and the second season of Call the Midwife, because I love the fact that the ladies are front and center THE WHOLE TIME.
2. My Het Big Bang is making slow progress at the moment after my whirlwind of writing. BUT! It shall be done.
3. We are moving! Again! Back to Scotland! Yay?
Actually, it is Yay, we liked it up there and I think I can get a pretty good job. We've already found a decent flat for not very much in a good part of town. Hardwood floors and a view of the Firth of Tay. Although, I hate moving SO MUCH. Argh.
4. I have now seen Mad Max: Fury Road and Spy and I loved them both for pretty much the same reason. Women, front and center, being fantastic. Being badass and vulnerable and funny and, at the end of the day, taking no crap from anyone. Awesome and very entertaining. I mean, even if you aren't interested in anything apart from watching something entertaining - these two films are darn entertaining.
5. I just discovered that my local Tesco (boo, hiss!) has Libby's pumpkin in a can! *flails* I can never find this stuff over here. The amazing
aj had to post me some once! They're probably SO overpriced, and I know it's summer, but I'm making pumpkin pie this weekend, I don't even care.
How is everyone? Staying cool?
Happy Thursday! ♥

Date: 2015-07-09 06:39 pm (UTC)Glad the move looks to positive though! I thought I remembered you saying you enjoyed Scotland. Someday I'd love to arrange to visit you there down the road! Lord knows we've "known" each other long enough online by this point LOL. Plus, visit to Scotland - I'm not seeing a negative here lol.
Haven't seen Spy, but Mad Max Fury Road is easily one of my top 10 movies now. Just loved the hell out of it! (ETA: if you ever decide to write Furiosa/Max I will probably squeal like a ship obsessed toddler. On the other hand, I heart your banter but Max barely speaks so... this could be a problem LOL)

Date: 2015-07-09 07:27 pm (UTC)Mad Max was SO intense and just plain amazing. And you're so right about about Max. He doesn't exactly do chatty!

Date: 2015-07-09 08:46 pm (UTC)It really REALLY was. I full on just sat through the first viewing with my hands clasped across my chest and just hearts-eyes stared at the screen. Tom Hardy definitely mastered the strong silent time. How the hell had he managed to swing under my radar anyway? I mean he has basically the trifecta of things that made me swoon over Renner and Karl - puppy dog eyes complete with adorable brow wrinkling, fantastic hands/forearms, and a helluva voice (when not playing a strong silent type LOL).
