Reading: I just purchased Sorceror to the Crown by Zen Cho because I was told it was like Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell with lots of ladies and POC and magic! I haven't started it yet, but it'll be cracked open by the weekend.

I'm debating re-reading the Rivers of London series before the next book is released, but that may be optimistic of me.

I did just re-read Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman because the prose is lovely and I'm trying to improve my prose.

Watching: I am actually still keeping up with From Dusk Till Dawn. It has these moments that are really, really, really good. The dialogue is crisp and the acting is just plain fun. But then it goes a bit wonky and I just wonder if they just throw stuff in there because they think they have to. But the ladies are interesting and the mythology is kinda fun. Plus Esai Morales is having a blast being an awful, awful, AWFUL dude. Seriously, I'd only watch Esai Morales do what this dude's doing. No one else.

Lewis started up last night and it was quite good, I thought! Just how I like it: Robbie, Laura, James and Lizzie teasing each other while solving crime. Bring it!

Writing: The novel continues! I've written a grand total of nine chapters, maybe ten? A good bit of it is handwritten at present and my goal is to type all of that lot up by the weekend, so I can start fresh with the middle bit on Monday. But I have the first third or so done? I think? It feels like I do and it feels pretty darn great, to be honest. I may actually finish this thing! No one is more surprised than I am.

How is everyone? Happy Wednesday! ♥

I'm about halfway through Sorcerer to the Crown, and it's great. (It really took off for me once the female protag appeared on the scene.)

Practical Magic is so lovely.

I have the Rivers of London series and Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell both sitting on my to-be-read pile as we speak!

I was disappointed to find that I didn't actually like the book version of Practical Magic. I think it just didn't have the same hopeful feel that the movie did. If you like magical realism though, Sarah Addison Allen's books are AMAZING. I read one a friend recced and the promptly checked out everything she's written at the library and then bought personal copies LOL. Same kind of really love prose with great female friendships and family relationships alongside the magic and romance. My faves I think are Garden Spells (her most famous I think), Lost Lake, and The Peach Keeper, but all of them are worth a read!

That is so awesome that the book is coming along! So excited for you that it's flowing again!

Rivers of London is so good. I'd definitely give them a go. Such fun prose and the dialogue is incredible, plus the effortless way he puts in all of these little geeky mentions, so much fun!

I've read Garden Spells, I think! She's a lovely writer!
