I'm still trying to decide if I'm doing anything resembling a NaNo. I usually do one every year and love it, but with the mad sprint of new chapters (up to FIVE because my brain hates me) and smaller revisions for Pitch Wars before the agent round November 3, I probably will be on the end of my brain by that point.
But on the other hand, I have the clearest plan for what to work on that I ever have really. I have 10k already on my YA magical realism, and 50k would get me well into the home stretch since YA can be a little shorter than usual. We shall see lol
I know what you mean! That's why I like the mini_wrimo set-up. I just pick a daily word count (in addition or alongside) my GYWO word count and just aim for it. You could always pick one project for the mini_wrimo word count? Like - only new project stuff gets counted?
I'd love to really, really do Nanowrimo, but if I'm starting this new job, I think it will be a struggle to keep up with my current word count. Argh.
The YA magical realism sounds awesome! You can do it!
Yeah, I just have no idea LOL. We shall see! Even just writing every day will be better than what I've been doing - so much of the revision has been a two steps forward three steps back kinda dance. Oh well!
And yeah, I'm really excited about it, though it feels like a completely different style than the NA paranormal and sci-fi I've written lately. Definitely a more literary feel - I want it to end up being sorta Sarah Addison Allen for teens. *crosses fingers it'll work*
