I was actually tagged for this on tumblr, but I'm posting it here, too. Please feel free to snag and give it a go!
My Top Ten TV Shows PLUS my fave ship from the show - Oooh-kay, this list is based on nostalgia and the fact that I can always watch an episode if it's on and/or these are my comfort shows. And yes - there is a definite trend of 'awesome lady taking charge and the loyal, steadfast fella who supports her.'
1. Law and Order: Criminal Intent - Eames/Goren. Look, whenever my life gets out of control? Or I get the flu? This show is my chicken noodle soup. I can't explain it. But watching the big, bear of a detective get schooled by his tiny, fierce partner makes me happy. This goes for Goren/Eames as well as Logan/Barak.
2. Primeval - Jess/Becker. I MISS MY STUPID DINOSAUR SHOW.
3. The X-Files - Scully/Mulder and Reyes/Doggett. This show. THIS SHOW. Show me a show that has better writing and pacing and yes, it probably should have stopped after season five, but THIS SHOW.
4. Community - Annie/Jeff. 'I'll make your ass sense.' 'The word he's looking for is sassy. He better pray he don't find it.' SHIRLEY, MY QUEEN. Nothing has ever made me laugh like this show. I miss you, show.
5. Remington Steele - Laura Holt/Remington Steele. See my icon? Laura Holt was my goal. Not sure if I've achieved it, but I do love hats. In fact, this show is probably why I adore Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries which is getting an honorable mention. Re: HATS.
6. Black Books - No pairing, but this show is a delight. Some days I'm Manny, some days I'm Fran, but I'm definitely Bernard for at least five minutes per day.
7. In Plain Sight - Mary/Marshall. MARSHAL MARSHALL IS, AND FOREVER WILL BE, MY TV BOYFRIEND.
8. From Dusk till Dawn - Seth/Kate or Santanico/Freedom. Ugh, I don't even know, y'all. This is my trash show. It's Robert Rodriguez being Robert Rod-freaking-riguez.
9. Elementary - Joan/someone who deserves her, which may or may not be Sherlock, we'll see. I like this show. It's watchable and just plain good.
10. Scorpion - Paige/Walter. This is the new kid on the block. It's cheesy, implausible and I cannot get enough of it. (I'm writing fic - send help.)
Hmm. I have written a lot for shows that I don't even watch anymore? Sherlock BBC, The Walking Dead, Doctor Who - I just can't bring myself to actually watch them do ridiculous things to characters I like.
