Things on a Tuesday!

1. First off, does anyone have any good recommendations for a good facial cleanser? Summer is sort of here and I really need something that attacks oily skin. Ugh. The biggest lie I was ever told was 'oh, your acne will TOTALLY clear up when you're older!' I'm 37 years old. It hasn't cleared up.

2. I got to PLAY WITH A PUPPY YESTERDAY! She's adorable. She's a little Jack Russell/Patterdale Terrior mix named Jwdi (Welsh for Judy). Oh, the puppy breath was lovely and rejuvenating and she's such a cutie-pie.

3. Um, I can probably only say this to y'all but...I have no desire whatsoever to see the new Captain America movie. *ducks* I'm so tired of this franchise, I can't even explain it. And I wish I wasn't! It's an actual active fandom and I'd love to participate but I just don't care? *sighs*

4. The Great Re-Jigging continues apace. It's proven to be a bit harder than I thought it would be as I'm changing quite a few things as well as trying to tie it into another story I'm writing in an attempt to go for the series route. So I'm having to say good-bye to characters and it's SO HARD. *sniffles* But, I have a good grasp on where I'm going so once I'm past the nit-picky things, I think I'll hit my stride somewhat. It's been fun getting back into some of these characters' heads. I love McCoy and Chapel in all their reincarnations.

5. I've been using my Crock=Pot lately and oh mama, I love my Crock-Pot. I made THE best chicken ropa vieja on Sunday. It just fell apart and was juicy and spicy and So. Good.

Happy Tuesday! ♥

1. Okay, let me give you a brand rec. First and foremost South Korean products are basically the gold standard when it comes to skin care. NO LIE. (Japanese ones are pretty decent too.)

Cleanser: Laneige Deep Pore Cleanser. (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amore-Pacific-Laneige-Clearing-Types/dp/B0079285RC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1462895022&sr=8-1&keywords=laneige+deep+pore+cleanser)

I love this brand, and while I use Castile soap (https://www.drbronner.com/DBMS/category/BABYMILD.html) (in case you are interested!), I have different skin than yours. That said, this brand is relatively cheap and awesome. I'd super pair this with a light moisturizer (I'd vote this one (http://www.handmadenaturals.co.uk/288/ultra-light-argan-avocado-rosehip-face-cream) as I've had some really good luck w/a moisturizer in the US that has a very similar component list... it's super light and NOT OILY!) and use the Laneige sleeping water pack (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Laneige-Water-Sleeping-Pack-Mask/dp/B004KPYWM8/ref=lp_1899748031_1_4?srs=1899748031&ie=UTF8&qid=1462895196&sr=8-4) to follow it up.

This all looks kinda expensive, but you use TINY amounts of each one. I SWEAR by the water sleeping pack (I even gave samples to my student who was all O.o "THIS IS GREAT") and none of these is super heavy or gross.

2. YAY, PUPPY.

3. SAME.

4. *waves pompoms* If you ever need me to give it an eye, let me know!

5. YAY! I need to dig mine out again once it gets warm.

1. Ooooh! Those look amazing, thank you so much for the recs! I'm lucky in that I actually have pretty decent skin (thank you, mother's side of the family and your lovely skin!), but the weather is all over the place and therefore my skin is all over the place. I'm definitely going to give those a go.

3. I'm so not into Marvel right now. I hate that they completely ignored Iron Man 3 and it just seems too fighty or something. Bleh.

4. I will! I'm giving myself to the end of the month to get something together.

Happy Tuesday to you, too! :)

It sucks that we're old and yet - spots! I mean, i'm almost fifty. WTH, pimples?! It's so annoying. For a very long time I used these face 'clothes' from Oil of Olay, the 'oily/combination' one. They worked a treat, were super-handy, and didn't cost too much. Then I ran out, heh, and didn't have anything for a few days and of course - spots. So I tried my daughter's 'coalface' soap from lush, and it worked great, too! So those are both options that worked great for me, that you might try.

Oil of Olay face cloth. (It's the one in the middle of the three images at the bottom - 'oily/combination'.)

Coalface Cleanser soap

I get being unenthused about a fandom. I kind of sucks, in some ways, especially if there's lots of fic and whatnot. I'm happily on the Steve/Bucky train, though, and saw and loved the movie this weekend. But hey - doesn't hurt my feelings that you don't wanna see it. Might dip a toe into the fic, though? There are some amazing writers out there writing non-movie-compliant (but still in-universe) stuff that is sooooo fantastic....

Well, okay, sorry. :) I just love a well-written fic and love to rec them.

McCoy and Chapel! I don't much care for the newest ST incarnations, but those two characters I love, so *very* much. Second only to Scotty, who was my True Love (tm) when i was wee. I look forward to reading! :)

I've heard SUCH good things about the coal products from Lush! I've used their shampoo (Big with the salt - oh my god - my straight, fine hair actually had BODY!), but I haven't tried any of the facial stuff. And Oil of Olay! It's all going on my list. Thank you!!

The fact that there's so much great fic out there is what gets me so frustrated! Stuff! To read! Ugh!!!

Oh, Scotty is the best in all his incarnations. :D

You're welcome! I hope you find something that works for you. I like the face cloths because I can also then use them to a) wipe down the faucet and sink in the bathroom or b) scrub my ears and also the little ledges for the soap in the shower. So - multi-purposed but *still* a bit wasteful.

But then, I've never liked having a washcloth hanging around being weird or stiff or musty, so it's a toss up. Currently, they don't carry any of the OoO stuff here at all, which is frustrating, so it's order one or the other online.

Oh, I'm sorry! I've had it for awhile now and it's such a pain. Mine's very tied to my monthly cycle, so I get about three days a month where my face is clear, but then it starts up all over again. Grrr.

Yay!!! I'm getting there (slowly!) but I think I know what I'm doing with everyone. I think...
