Wow, very long time, no post! I'm so sorry about that. Life got very, very busy.
In short, work is stupid busy. I mean, holy cow. I've been to agricultural shows and ram sales and summer is ridiculous for farmers. It's fun? But I cannot wait for November at this point.
We've moved into a new place! Wooo!!! It's a rental, but a proper house. All ours. No one else in the building. I'm so happy to be out of the old place, we hated it. We really, really did. This new place is in a more residential area and near the sea. Seriously, I can see the sea from my window. I've already picked out the spot where my desk is going to go. I'm (finally!) getting a decent desk to write at.
Writing is going pretty well, actually. My brain has been totally hijacked by pirates. I'm obsessed with Black Sails and I can't stop writing Billy Bones/Abigail Ashe fic. I'm writing an epic, y'all. I mean, this fic is going to be long and ridiculous and it's making me so happy. I'm just going with it at this point.
That being said, I think I may try for NaNoWriMo this year, but we'll see.
I don't think I'm going to do Yuletide, though. I'm just not feeling it and I'm not sure. I think I'm off to the states to see family for a few weeks over Xmas, so maybe it's all right.
In movie news - I love Ghostbusters SO MUCH. SO, SO, SO MUCH!!!

Date: 2016-09-08 08:47 am (UTC)I think my plan for NaNoWriMo is to put aside all the fic (including pirates, if I'm not done, which I probably won't be) and devote the entire month to my ghostly sea captain. I'm 25,000 words in to it, I know what I want to happen, I just need to buckle down and GET IT DONE. So, that maybe what I'm doing. I'm still going to aim for 60,000 words in a month, but it will be finishing up that story. Even if it's rough, it will be DONE.
So, yes! We can definitely swap word counts! :D

Date: 2016-09-08 03:33 pm (UTC)And man that would be AWESOME if you could get it done - I still definitely want in on betaing/critique partnering if only so I get to read it sooner LOL And yeah if you hit 50k - that puts you at 75kish total which is a solid length for a romance for sure. And you can always increase/decrease when you do edits later on.
I am currently up in the air as to what I'm going to NaNo. I have 20kish on that YA small town magical realism with cats thing, but I don't know that's what I want to dive into or not. Depending on the decision from the novella anthology call, I may end up powering the next in the series if I get picked up. I'm clueless at this point.
Hell it could end up being something completely different for all I know. I've been so focused on my to-do list, it might not be a bad year to just let my brain play on something completely new.
