vega_ofthe_lyre for some Doctor/Rose/Jack domestic goodness. I hope this suffices! :D
She'd never tell him, but she really loves this. 'This' being, her in the kitchen of the TARDIS listening as he and Jack argue over the correct way to regulate polarity flows, or something, while she makes tea.
It had started sort of naturally. After one particularly wet adventure, she'd desperately needed a cuppa and before she knew it, she was making one for the Doctor and Jack.
So, now after they fly through the doors of the TARDIS, narrowly escaping one type of catastrophe or another and laughing hysterically, they eventually make their way into the kitchen. Rose heads straight for the kettle, Jack sprawls on one of the chairs and the Doctor props himself up against the counter. They natter on and she interjects her opinion every now and then. She always has to bump his hip with hers to get him to move so she can get to the drawer. Every time.
It's positively domestic.
If she didn't know any better, she'd say he liked it. Liked her bumping his hip, liked that it was a routine, liked that it felt warm and cozy, but she'd never, ever call him on it.
Not him. Because, he'd stop. He'd stop coming. He'd stop letting her do the other little things, like tucking her hand in the crook of his arm or pinching some of his chips right off his plate. He'd stop showing Jack how to recalibrate the TARDIS and cracking jokes about common planets they've visited.
He'd just stop. Rose knows this. The knowledge sits in her chest like a hard, little knot of pain that tightens whenever she sees that lost look in his eyes.
So, she's not going to say anything. She's going to continue to make tea and joke and laugh and bump his hip with hers.
Rose is going to pretend that they're everything he needs. Because, God knows, they're everything she needs.
