Umm. Too many fandoms. Help?

Okay, ya'll. I'll be completely honest. I've only seen a few eps of Supernatural. I really love the concept behind it and I've read a good chunk of Chloe/Dean fics, which I love, (btw, read everything pen37 has written, for serious!) but I've pretty much kept out of it. Mainly because I don't actually have a tv and I already have a fair number of shows I watch through *ahem* alternative methods.

This being said, I just stumbled across a fic with Castiel and Anna. Am I getting this right? They're angels? Who have fallen? And there is a potential for an interesting relationship? And her last name after she'd fallen is Milton? 'Cause that's awesome. That's terribly, wonderfully awesome.

Does this mean I have to start watching?

BTW, does anyone have any good methods of how to kick one's self in the rear to start writing? I've got plot and I've ended everything already in my head, I just can't get out of this funk and actually write.

As far as I can make out, Anna was fallen, but then found her grace again which in the Supernatural world is a physical object. She's now a proper angel again.

Castiel rebelled against heaven to save the Winchesters and was punished by an archangel, but then reinstated. Sort of. Ish.

I enjoy Supernatural, but I must be honest, mostly as eye candy. I haven't really got into the fandom as Wincest seems to be the most popular pairing. I haven't got anything against slash, but incest is too weird for me. Plus, in canon Dean is such a womaniser that I just don't see him as gay, even if he does spend every other episode crying.

Okay, that makes more sense. I think I like the idea of the two angels.

And I know what you mean about the incest, that squicks me a bit too much. Hmmm. I may just have to stick to clips and fic, I usually enjoy that more than the show itself.

Anna and castiel are kind of rouge angels. They aren't fallen in the sense that Lucifer has fallen, but they aren't on the side of the angels, either.

They both served heaven, and Anna tore out her grace and fell so that she could become human to see what it's like. During last season, the demons wanted to grab her for intel, and the angels wanted to kill her so the demons couldn't get to her. The boys helped her to retrieve her grace to become an angel again.

castiel was assigned to help dean. he first retrieved him from hell. But in the course of helping Dean, he lost a lot of his impartiality. At the end of last season, when the boys came down in the middle (not on the side of the angels, but not on the side of the demons) castiel sided with them. So he's fallen in the sense that he's not on heaven's side presently (which is not the same as not being on god's side, apparantly. God is missing and Castiel was looking for him as far as ep 2, which was the last one I've seen)

And your summary clears things up quite a bit. Thank you! I love the idea of rogue angels. I studied Milton very briefly in uni and I love playing with angel mythology.

I think everyone's got you covered; suffice it to say season 4-to-now Supernatural is the bee's fricking knees. It's really, really taken a fantastic turn. And there is a very healthy non-Wincest segment of fandom that's grown even larger since this new shakeup in mythology. I'd recommend getting into it!

(And, hey, I'll prompt you if you'll prompt me? *dies* I don't have time to write but I will anyway dammit. I've been feeling way too uncreative and gross lately.)

I love the way things appear to be going. I may just have to tune in for the angels! I loved Milton when I studied him, (albeit very briefly) and so I'm so there with rogue angels.

And, my problem is that I've got too many prompts and no energy to actually write them. Or motivation. I don't know. I think I've just got to chain myself to my desk.

But, you know what, prompt me anyway!!

Personally, I'd love some McCoy/Chapel, maybe AU and apocalyptic? I'm getting psyched up for Halloween and I watched parts of The Stand recently.

Sadly Anna wasn't in very many episodes and she just disappeared towards the end of the last season (possibly because they discovered how popular Castiel was). Castiel is becoming a very important character. Seasons 4 and the current season (5) have been pretty much Angels vs. Demons and I have heard that it is very Paradise Lost based (although I'm not familiar with it myself).

I'm huge fan of the show but I haven't been so much involved in the fandom because I don't buy the Wincest thing. There is however some excellent het and gen (although not as much as I would like) and I have recs if you are interested. I haven't seen much Anna/Castiel but Dean/Castiel is now an enormous pairing.

Dude, are we on the same fannish path? Because this week has been consumed with looking for Castiel/Anna fic -- I love the idea of these two, slightly alien, heartbreakingly remote angels discovering they can actually miss things, people and each other. This rec was great!

Their scenes in seasons four are absolute gold, and SPN fandom terrifies me so I've been a little scared to root around, but the stuff I've read like Cries Like Dead Letters (http://pandarus.livejournal.com/265495.html) by pandarus and the little moments in Dean/Castiel pieces like sparky77's Like Wile E. Coyote (http://sparky77.livejournal.com/585253.html) and In the Silence Afterward (http://ibroketuesday.livejournal.com/97365.html#cutid1) by ibroketuesday have been great.

*snerk* Recs!! Yay! I'm really digging these two. I found castielxanna which seems to have some very good stuff on it, just not much, so far. One of the posts was a pretty cool picspam. I now think Castiel has the best puppy-dog eyes ever.

I think I'm going to have to watch s4 just for them!
