Howdy!

1. I'm feeling much better about life and things in general. I mean, it's still January, but it'll be February on Friday and that means that time is passing and I think that's a good thing. But boy howdy, this month has lasted for at least a year. Sheesh. So, I think I've turned a good corner in regards to the fellow I broke up with. We've kept it friendly and even talked on Sunday. I've returned things he loaned and/or left at my place. When I hung up with him, I had the thought that if I never spoke to him again, I'd be okay with that. Not in an angry way, just - it's done. I took a risk in starting a relationship and allowing myself to be vulnerable and, for the most part, it was fine. A good experience, even. But it's over and I can move on.

I have to say, there were definitely some things about him that would NOT have worked out long-term. For example: not really a dog person (which I very much AM), sometimes used 'females' when talking about women (which sometimes felt like a bit of a red flag), didn't like the Princess Bride (I know, WHAT?!), and I always got the feeling that when a situation arose that would involve compromise -I'd be the one doing the compromising. Y'all, I already had that kind of relationship - I ain't doing it again. In short - I'm feeling very good and sure of my decision to call it off. The sadness and loneliness are lingering around the edges, but they're moving on.

2. I started exercising again! I went to my very first yoga class last week and loved it. I'll definitely be going back.

3. I'm also going to fold 1000 origami paper cranes this year. I'm teaching myself origami and if I make 3 to 5 cranes a day over this year, I should reach 1000. It's really fun.

4. Who actually managed to write and type up 2,500 words of the next chapter of 'a tide of hope' this weekend? THIS GIRL. WOOO!

5. Has anyone watched 'The Terror? It was an AMC series on last year about the Northwest passage. It looks intriguing!

I hope everyone is okay! Happy Tuesday! ♥

My boyfriend has read the book The Terror is based in and talked about it for like a month straight. He loved it so much. He's distraught that the TV series seems totally unobtainable by any means in the UK. He's so eager to see it.

The Terror is great, both book and series. It took me a few attempts to get into the novel, but once I did, I loved it. The series is very well done -- sterling performances from all around. They did change things somewhat, and I don't really know why they did. I can't explain without totally spoiling things, but will happily once you've either watched it or read it, if you want.

Stan Rogers always makes things more stampy and like you want to sing in rounds.

*hugs as usual* 1) Yeah, I mean, compromise is what makes a relationship work - but it MUST be both sides, and just from the little bit we talked about, he didn't seem terribly willing to do so. And what kind of monster doesn't like dogs OR The Princess Bride??? (Tho yeah I'm not even getting into the "female" thing 0_0 LOL).

2) Exercise for the win! My man & I are looking into starting Tai Chi & I'm super excited about it. Wanted to try it for years, and I think it will be kind to my crappy wrists which sadly yoga was not so much.

4) Wheeeeeeee words!! Sounds like it's gonna be a nice long chapter and I am here for it!
