This is not that day. :D

Despite the fact that I've just written two fics that are fairly unabashedly Eleven/Amy, I'm really okay with not shipping them.

I'm loving Eleven because he feels like old skool Who. He's mad, energetic, brilliant and works to make you like him. His emotions run hot and cold, but never angsty or too emo.

Amy is a little on the mad side herself. Maybe more than a little. She's independent and while I'm still not too happy about her leaving the night before her wedding and the fact she hasn't told the Doctor about it yet, I adore her to pieces.

As of right now, all I want out of this show is to continue to watch Matt Smith and Karen Gillan run around being daft, teasing each other and saving the universe. The end.

Even in my fic, I have no illusions about the fact that the Doctor will never have THE ONE that he MUST BE WITH 4EVAH. I just want him to have a mate, a friend, someone who loves seeing the universe as much as he does. For Eleven, it is definitely Amy. She's challenging him in lovely ways, just as he's challenging her.

So, continue being awesome Eleven and Amy! Be mad and daft and flirt up a storm!

(And if you happen to have fantastic sex in the control room in fanfic, that's fine by me!)

/end disjointed thoughts about shipping.

Have I mentioned how much I love having a show I'm actually excited about watching? 'Cause I am. Oh, I've also started watching Ashes to Ashes. And everyone was right, this show is pretty much awesome, too.

I know exactly what you mean and am going WORD to all your points.

I saw a quote of an interview where Moffat called the Doctor a "serial faller-in-lover" which I thought was absolutely perfect, annnd I've completely forgotten where I was going with that thread. *headdesk* Except that it's an awesome quote.

That really is an awesome quote. That is how I will always think of him now.

That's a lovely quote and absolutely spot on! He is! He's going to have hundreds of experiences, live for hundreds (thousands?) of years, and personally, if I had to live forever, I'd want to be optimistic about the whole thing and crave new adventures and new people.

It makes the leaving difficult, but think of all the potential joy you could have as well? :D

*hugs the Doctor*
