So, I finally talked teh husband into watching Community last night. He's not what you would call a fan of TV and I kept saying, 'But this is FUNNY! It's got JOHN OLIVER in it! AND Chevy CHASE! How is that not amazing?'

So, we started with the pilot and the second Abed started to actually quote The Breakfast Club, my husband was in stitches. Of course, the show only gets better from here on out, so Yay! for something funny to watch!

Speaking of watching stuff, should I be watching Leverage? I hear good things.

Hee! I was wondering about this show. It seems to have stuff I like, so I might give it a chance. Is it grim, though? Any ridiculous boughts of violence? I just want fun in my shows these days.

It is the very opposite of grim. Former bad guys get together to go good things for deserving people. Even their "hitter" refuses to use a gun on the grounds that he "doesn't like them".

I defy you not to fall in love with Hardison.

Ooh! This sounds very cool. I'm so tired of shows that feel they have to be violent for the sake of being violent. What happened to the days of just alluding to things? I always found it far more frightening to imagine what had happened than to actually see it.

Well, there's usually a bloodless fistfight at some point, but it's really not at all bad. It's a very fun, light show.

THIS. Also, the people actually like each other! And even when they're annoyed with each other, they stick it out and work out their problems! And it's funny and silly, and there are Doctor Who references and IT'S KINDA AWESOME AND GREAT.

Also, it's really A-Team levels of violence. Where no on really dies, and while people get punched a lot, it's usually them doing the instigating. There's a higher body count in a GI-Joe episode.

I fourteenth the Leverage rec. Any show that where Hardison has to teach Parker about Star Trek is going to be the show of my heart. :D

Oh, I love it when people try to explain Star Trek! I'm sold. Plus I always did like the guy who played Lindsey in Angel.
