favorite fics, any fandom - you know, the ones you'll go back and read over and over again because they're just that awesome. :)

Ooh, good one. I'll warn you, I like obscure pairings and most of these are long fics.

Quick and Bitter, Slow and Sweet
(http://home.mchsi.com/~missmurchison/Quick_and_Bitter.htm) by Miss Murchison. Spike/Tara from Buffy. It's kind, sensual and gives Spike and Tara a much better future than the show did.

Malus Genius (http://www.reocities.com/Area51/Dreamworld/2528/mgtitle.html) by Maybe Amanda and Plausible Deniability. Mulder/Scully from the X-Files. It's a case-fic and it's hilarious and feels like an episode of the show but you actually get to SEE the Mulder/Scully lovin'.

Never Spellbound by a Starry Sky (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/755171/1/Never_Spellbound_by_a_Starry_Sky) by Eve. Rick/Evy from the Mummy. Post the first movie. Hilarious and so very adorable. I love Evy in this, and Rick is simply wonderful. The author even managed to sneak in a fun plot.

Monday's Child (http://peggieliz.livejournal.com/948.html) by peggieliz. Hannah/Bill from Harry Potter. This just makes me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy.

The Helen Thurlow series (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/637818/AerynFire) by AerynFire. Okay. Bear with me on this one, but this is a Sherlock Holmes/OFC series. It's stunning. The authors have done their research and this is still a Sherlock Holmes of the stories. I think it's based on the Jeremy Brett Sherlock, not the newer versions, although I can certainly go back and see Benedict Cumberbatch in the role. It's so very well-written and very engrossing. I've linked to the author page on ff.net. Start with The Forfeit Daughter and finish with The Rules of Engagement.

Enjoy! And let me know if you like them and I'm not crazy for my choices here. :D

oh wow. those are all so going on my to-be-read list. those all sound amazing. I'm a sucker for good Mulder/Scully (probably my first true OTP), and Hannah/Bill? that is not one I ever would have thought of but sounds awesome.

Will definitely report back!

Top five recipes!

Hmmmm.

Kedgeree (http://www.ivillage.co.uk/food/tools/recipefinder/display_recipe/0,,4170,00.html). However, you can simplify this one and instead of using haddock, use tinned mackerel. And I don't bother with the milk or the heavy cream. Just throw it all in a pan and simmer for a bit. Use lots of curry powder!

Guiness Stew (http://www.icookfood.com/2007/01/beef-and-guinness-stew.html) Once again, you can simplify and omit the beef if you want and just add more potatoes. I also like to throw in some mushrooms and a red bell pepper to bulk up the vegetables.

Earl Grey Cupcakes (http://patentandthepantry.wordpress.com/2008/09/21/earl-grey-cupcakes-with-lemon-buttercream/) These are addictive. I dare you to just eat one after they come out of the oven. My husband is not big on icing (yeah, I don't get it either), so if you want, you can halve the icing bit and it makes a really nice glaze instead of all that icing.

Chicken Fesenjan (http://recipes.moldova.org/recipe/khoreshtefesenjan-chicken-in-pomegranate-sauce-91-1323-eng.html). I make my husband make this for me on my birthday every year! You can use pomegranate juice if you can't find the syrup, just use a lot of it.

Breakfast Burritos.

This is one we've sort of cooked up (pardon the pun!) together for when we're exhausted and just want to use stuff up.

Saute onions, pepper, mushrooms, or any veg you have laying about with some cumin, tumeric, cayenne pepper and garlic. Add as much spice as you like.

Saute all that until cooked.

Crack three eggs over the vegetables in the pan.

Then scramble it all together until the eggs are cooked.

Spoon the mixture into tortillas of your choice. We like the corn ones.

Roll up like burritos and put on a baking sheet or whatever you can put in your oven.

Sprinkle cheese over the top.

Bake or broil until cheese has melted and the tortilla is crunchy.

EAT! You can add salsa if you've got it.

Dang it, I'm hungry now! :P

Ooh, good answers. I'm going to second your India, would loooove to see it. And NYC, live about two hours south of it but I'm drawn more to Philadelphia. I believe the Pensy city has more character. If you ever make it this way, I strongly recommend checking out Philly after getting a good chunk of NYC in. :)

Top Five Mary/Marshall moments and Top Five ships on Community.

From: [identity profile] seren-ccd.livejournal.com
Hmmm.

Top Five Mary/Marshall

1. Pretty much the entire episode in the first season with the stable. Primarily him not being able to look at her in her tight dress to the fake kiss.
2. In Trojan Horst - right after he gets shot, but then just gets back up and they shoot back at the bad guys. Just seeing them together like that was awesome.
3. In Let's Get it Ahn when their at the diner and she confesses that she's engaged. His face just kills me.
4. I don't remember the name of the episode, but after she's broken up with Raph and they're in the car and he's being so understanding.
5. The entire episode of To Serge With Love, because she loves him more than an $8 whore.

Community Ships
1. JEFF/ANNIE!
2. Britta/Abed
3. Troy/Abed
4. The Dean/Dalmation
5. JEFF/ANNIE!

OH GOD YES. I remember watching Marshall in the car and being just blown away by how talented his actor was.

I don't remember the name of the episode, but after she's broken up with Raph and they're in the car and he's being so understanding.

That was a great scene. Interestingly, I think it's the only time that Mary has asked for/needed something and Marshall couldn't give it to her.

The entire episode of To Serge With Love, because she loves him more than an $8 whore.

To Serge is one of my favorite episodes. I really liked the witness from the pilot, and I liked how it all played out.

re: Community ships

I like how Jeff/Annie is one your list twice and in CAPITALS (as it should be).

2. Britta/Abed

This pairing is slowly growing on me. What made you ship it?
