I'm sitting in the Tallahassee airport waiting for my flight to Atlanta, then I'm flying to Manchester, then taking a train back to Wales.  It's been a very busy holiday.  I'm exhausted and I have a cold, naturally.  I spent most of New Year's Day in the ER with my grandmother-in-law who is 90 and was severely dehydrated and NO ONE was doing anything. So I did something.  Good news - she's much better after a few days of fluids and antibiotics.  Bad news - she's 90?  With severe osteoporosis and her husband is also 90 and well, they need care.  Hopefully, they'll get someone to come around during the day.

I have eaten SO MUCH.  Shrimp po'boys, meatloaf, standing rib roast, steak tenderloin, massive salads, eggnog milkshakes, lots of Corona's and margaritas.  I'm a very full bunny right now.

I only saw one movie and that was Sing, the animated movie with Matthew McConaghey as a koala and Reese Witherspoon as a pig.  It was pretty adorable and had a great soundtrack.

I'm also very ready to go home to my husband and the sea and our funny-shaped house and all the sheep. :D

I'm also ready to get back into writing.  I have three writing 'goals' for the year:

Finish my Abigail/Billy, Black Sails EPIC.
Type up my ghost story that I mostly finished in November.
Start the sequel to the above.  This is the one with the werewolf accountant who has lately begun to look a great deal like John Cho in my head.  Because reasons.

This year we're also going to Greece for a wedding and hope to visit Oxford and maybe somewhere else for the fun of it.  It's going to be a tough year, so we're trying to get some coping mechanisms in place ahead of any inevitable troubles.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday and I'm sending all my good thoughts and best wishes to everyone for the New Year.  ♥  Happy Friday!

Hullo!

Well. 2014 was hellacious. In fact, the less said about November and most of December the better. There were some health issues and it got pretty dodgy for awhile there. But I believe we're on the other side of things and I think things are in a much, much better place. I even went to the states for about 2 weeks to see my family and that was a blast. My mom got a puppy! Do you want to meet little Brynley the Shetland Sheepdog? He's just here, behind the cut: look at that faaace ) He's such a cutie-patootie. He's very smart and catches on very fast. *SQUISHES*

So, I have some 2015 Intentions (borrowed from Jenny Crusie's blog - as per usual- because 'resolutions' can come with a side order of guilt/shame if they aren't stuck to and I'm not in the mood for guilt/shame and I like having things that I'd like to accomplish, but I'm not going to beat myself up if I don't get around to them or don't quite finish them.

1. I'm doing Get Your Words Out again this year. I just fell short of the 150,000 goal last year by about 3,000 words, the majority of that was Walking Dead fic (a show that is now dead to me due to the fact that every time I write about a lady on that show - they die. I will never write a Carol fic, because she and Michonne are currently the best people on that show). ANYWAY! Words! I will attempt to write them! It's very slow-going at the moment but I will do my best.

2. Exercise. Le husband and I are going to try to go for a stroll every evening and my office-buddy and I belong to the gym that is right next door to our office, so we're going to try to go at least 3 times a week.

3. Take a holiday with le husband. We haven't had a holiday alone together in YEARS. I don't care if it's a long weekend in Brighton, we're taking periodic mini-breaks.

4. Continue to learn as much as I can at my job. It's looking like we'll be in the south of England until December 2015, so I'm going to take advantage of every single training opportunity I can. My supervisor wants to train me in project management and I am ALL FOR IT. I love it, I love my office, I love the work. I want to do as much of is as I can.

5. Pay off my credit card. I think I can do this by April. *fingers crossed*

6. Post more on LiveJournal. *NODS*

I'm actually also going on a holiday with my mom towards the end of the summer. She's coming over here with her church to tour cathedrals. The itinerary looks amazing! Private tours of Canterbury, Rochester, and Coventry cathedral AND Westminster Abbey AND we get to go to Oxford and Stonehenge!!! Very cool. The Episcopals are pretty chill, too. They like their pubs.

What about y'all? Any intentions or plans or fun stuff for the year? Heck, any fun plans for the weekend? Happy Friday! ♥
