Is back. Is also v. tired.

Well. First things first, anyone planning on going to Scandinavia, make sure you have more money than I do. Wow, things are expensive. Five quid for a pint of Carlsberg. Seriously.

Other than that, it is absolutely gorgeous. The Finnish and Swedish archipelago is the most incredible landscape I've ever seen. I want to line on one of the little islands with a lighthouse and fir trees. So, so beautiful. We swam, cycled, canoed. I'm almost tan! The amount of sun I got will last me for at least a good month.

These are some of the odd little things I noted down that happened:

1. On a bus in Finland, the driver was listening to Kraftwerk. It was awesome.
2. We watched Hair late one night in our hostel. Let the sun shine!!
3. I was lectured to by an old Swedish man about the treatment of Native Americans at the hands of the white men. That was a little weird.

The wedding we went to was so lovely. It was held in a tiny Swedish church with amazing paintings depicting Bible stories on the ceiling. We attempted to sing along in Swedish to one of the hymns.

I now have a stack of work on my desk and have the next story in my McCoy/Chapel series plotted out. I need another vacation!

I know, right? Plus we had to spend a fair amount of time with some members of the family which we just don't get on with at all. So stressful.

I love it when I tour another country and some national decides one American is like any other and starts a tirade about the "treatment of Native Americans". I take out my tribal ID and wave it in their faces. It's so much fun. (g)

I know they mean well but their targeting all Americans for the actions of a few a long time ago is as wrong as the original policies against Native Americans.

I think I'm technically one-sixteenth Cherokee according to my mother. So, my husband and I were just standing there and not wanting to be rude, but inwardly trying not to roll our eyes and discuss the methods his ancestors may have used when they also colonized parts of the states.

*finally rolls eyes*

It was actually a lovely holiday and it was really cool to be that far up north. I want to go to Norway next! Fjords!
