So, I'm finishing and polishing up my Star Trek Big Bang. Jim's being all captainy and interrogating the bad guys. I read over what I'd just written and go, 'Hmm, why does that sort of sound familiar?'

Oh, I know. BECAUSE IT SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE POIROT! I just made Captain James Tiberius Kirk channel Hercule Poirot.

He's so annoying! I'm trying to write this serious scene that's been eluding me for MONTHS. It's the last big scene I have to write and then I'll be DONE and he goes all 'and you thought this would be a good idea, n'est pas? Well, you cannot fool the famous James T. Kirk, oh no, monsieur!'

Jim really is a terrible person, btw. And I really think you should leave the dialog JUST LIKE THAT. Because random French is such a scene break. Also, there's fun language about people questioning Star Fleet's reasoning on promoting him to Captain. EVER.

This is what happens when I try to write a plot. I should have stuck with Bones and Christine in bed for 20,000 words. Doing nothing but snarking and sexin' and eating sugary foods.

I LOVE HAVEN AN ABSURD AMOUNT! WHY? Nathan and Audrey are falling into the wonderful stupid-cute category.

(also by beta-ing, if you meant throwing your eyes over this Big Bang, that would awesome! fringedweller has been holding my hand and has been AMAZING, but it would be cool to have another set of eyes look it over)

Bah, seriousness! And yeah. I can always appreciate plot in other people's stuff, but when I try and write it, it ends up being really boring and turning into 4+ pages of exposition that I think is stupid and stalls me out on the whole thing for months. Possibly.

And I'm happy to beat Big Bang! Note: Do you want a nice beta that's mostly typo nit-picking, or thoughtful beta with tone/pacing/this-makes-no-sense criticism? I can do either or both.

NATHAN AND AUDREY AMUSE THE HELL OUT OF ME. Even if they just end up as partners forever and snark at each other for the rest of their lives, I will be a happy monkey. THEY ARE SO ENTERTAINING.

YES, THIS EXACTLY. Random making out, then fun silly (because they're adults and making out is FUN and you can make out with someone and not want to BE THEIR TRUE LOVE... even if you might eventually end up as that, BUT TOO NEW) partner stuff, and them staring in confusion at things.

Seriously, I adore them so hard.
