I will be the first to say that my mom has issues. And she has not taken me moving to an entirely different country with, let's say, aplomb. However, sometimes she really gets things right.

She sent me a care package that arrived yesterday complete with a sweater, two recent Vanity Fairs (Johnny Depp and Heath Ledger!), a few paperbacks INCLUDING two Jennifer Crusie Harlequins she found after I told her I was getting into her novels! I can never make fun of my mom's extensive romance novel collection after this.

AND

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES! I HAVE THIN MINTS, SAMOAS AND TAGALONGS IN MY HOUSE!!!

This fills me with glee. Johnny Depp, Jennifer Cruise and Girl Scout Cookies. My mom is awesome.

And since we're on the subject of romance novels and stuff: ladykink. It looks like fun!

Oooh awesome! I have always been intrigued by the concept of Girl Scout Cookies, they sound so exciting.

Which Crusie harlequins? I read them all back in the day and I've still got a few of the reissues.

Oh, Girl Scout cookies... I was a girl scout up until I was, oh gosh, 15 or so? I used to sell these things door to door. They're really quite lovely. Especially since they're only available during this time of year.

She sent me the Cinderella Deal and Manhunting. I have to confess, I read the Cinderella Deal last night. It was pretty adorable.

I always assumed that the Girl Scouts baked them to specific recipes. I was very suprised to see that they were manufactured. (I was a Girl Guide for a bit)

I don't remember much about the Cinderella Deal but Manhunting is very funny. Anyone But You (aka Fred's book) is the best of her Harlequins (and probably the best harlequin out there)
