Oh, whoa, uh, oh, everybody's starry-eyed
Jul. 30th, 2010 02:51 pmThis tumblr, right here? Is my freakin' happy place.
Speaking of bookshelves, the plan for Saturday is to go to the National Library of Wales, find myself an empty table, and WRITE. I'm only 3700 words into my Big Bang and that needs to change. I know what I'm doing though! I've got an outline and everything.
However, in good news: IT'S FRIDAY!

Monday, monday
Jul. 26th, 2010 01:59 pmSo, I think I've managed to get the whole A-Team in Spaace under control. I will henceforth be working on my Star Trek Big Bang. (Yay McCoy/Chapel! I love these crazy kids!)
( Aren't they loverly? )
MemeTime!
Go to Wikipedia (as the most convenient resource), and copy the list of movies that were released in the year when you were 12 years old. Mark in italics the movies that you've seen. (Not necessarily that year.) Mark in bold the movies that you own on video, DVD, Blu-Ray or whatever.
I'm cheating and just marking the ones I saw and liked. At the time. I might have a different opinion these days.
The year was 1990 and it's a rather long list.
( You picked the wrong goddam rec room, didn't ya? )

Why is it that when I decide to write just a short, mostly dialogue-based fic it turns into, at the moment, 1,218 word epic? I mean, I'm still in the setting the scene bit!
And what's worse, I'm not too sure I like it, but it just keeps going and going and going.
*headdesk*
I'm going to lunch. Maybe I'll be less prolific when I'm not having hunger pangs.
This is all y'all's fault for wanting naked!Christine, Face and McCoy, by the way. :P
Happy Friday!

Fanfic is my anti-drug
Jul. 17th, 2010 06:50 pmSo, that thing I wrote yesterday? It's spawned a sequel. I'm even going to post a cast list. When I'm on my own computer and not someone else's. *looks around for my in-laws*
So, be prepared. The crack is not going to end anytime soon. Mwahahahahaha.
In other news, I played SingStar on Playstation last night. Did you know that you don't actually have to be musically inclined to win at that thing? In fact, it's often better if you aren't. I would like to point out that I nailed the Gin Blossoms' 'Hey Jealousy'. Oh yeah.
I hope everyone's having a nice Saturday! Have a great weekend everyone!

Self-Reccing Meme and the A-Team
Jul. 14th, 2010 11:39 amSo, I saw The A-Team movie last night. It was surprisingly not bad. It had explosions, scenes with people building stuff, enough testoterone to knock out a city and was pretty funny. Also, when did Will Tippin get hot? Goodness, gracious Bradley Cooper's pretty.
Now for that Self-Reccing Meme that's going around. Can I just say that this last year has been truly an amazing year to write in? I've met such wonderful folks and read some incredible stories and learned so much.

Maybe I wear too much pink
Jun. 24th, 2010 01:57 pmOkay, here is a list o'stuff for today.
1. 30 Day Meme: Day 19 → A talent of yours
Hmmm. Ah, I sing? Although, not as much as I used to. Umm, lately, I'm getting pretty good at cooking. I put up with my co-worker? Surely that's a talent.
2. FINALLY saw the latest Doctor Who. And, no spoilers, but Matt Smith is really, really awesome. I mean, wow. The boy can monologue, but it doesn't actually feel like a monologue.
3. The amount of writing I've got to do is frightening.
4. Two lads just walked past my window here at work and they were discussing soup. Seriously.
5. Is it true that Alex Skarsgard is dating the actress who plays Queen Sophie-Ann? Or has my mom finally lost it?
6. Is very late to the party, but Michael Fassbender is a very, very pretty man.
Happy Thursday!

30 Day Meme
Day 04 → Your favourite book
I'm going to go with a book that I loved when I was a teenager and still love to this day.
Over the Moon by Elissa Haden Guest. It's sadly out of print and I doubt many people have read it. But it instilled in me a love for New England, rocky beaches, ferry trips, road trips, silver earrings, acoustic guitars, jazz and Simon and Garfunkel.
It's about a 16-year-old girl who goes looking for the sister that left them years before. The narrator is kind, young, a little naive, but lovely. The style of writing is just easy. You just sink into this book and want to go on a road trip. It draws your attention to little things, like what type of soap someone has in their bathroom, to what finger they were their rings on, and what music is playing in the background.
It also has probably the best first kiss I've ever read.
Now, for a meme borrwed from

Give me a character, a series, or a pairing and in return I'll give you three reasons why I love that character, that series, or that pairing!

Why I write fanfic meme
May. 14th, 2010 06:43 pmSnagged from
aj
Why I read/write fanfic: Because I like taking the characters to places they haven't gone yet. I like making them interact with people they may have never met otherwise. I like the experience of writing with characters I love and places I'd like to visit. Because, I have met some amazing people while exploring fandoms. Because, it has inspired me to write and take my writing further.
And finally, because it is FUN.
